Binayak Acharya College

The College has its origin as the extension wing of Khalikote College, Berhampur, during the session 1978- 79 with the facility of imparting instructions up to Intermediate classes in Arts and Commerce. The extension Wing was elevated into a full fledged independent institution from the session 1981-82 and was named as Government College, Berhampur. In the session 1984-85 in reference to the loving memory of late Sri Binayak Acharya, the former Chief Minister of Odisha, the college was renamed as Binayak Acharya College, Berhampur. The College has been accredited by the NAAC during the session 2016-2017 with B Grade.

Nss Wing (unit-I and II) in collaboration with YRC is going to celebrate Van Mahatsav on 10th July 9.00 AM by planting trees in the college campus.

14 Students of our college attended the Dharitri Youth Conclave 2023 – Climate Change: The Path Ahead’ on November 24, 2023, at the Rail Auditorium in Bhubaneswar.The aim of the conclave was to create awareness among the youth regarding the adverse impact of climate change.Eminent environmentalists and social activists like Forest Man of India, Jadav Payeng,Environment activist & founder of Environmental Foundation of India (EFI) Arun Krishnamurthy addressed the students.Hindi film star and youth icon,Sonu Sood and three time Grammy award winner, Ricky Kej were star attractions in the conclave.

A study tour was organised for +3 students of Botany Honours to College of Pharmaceutical sciences ,Berhampur

A study tour was organised for +3 students of Botany Honours to College of Pharmaceutical sciences ,Berhampur on 12th March,2023 under the guidance of Dr.Manna Milian,HOD,Dept of Botany.Students visited the Pharmachemistry Lab,Drug Design Lab,Microbiology Lab,Biotechnology Lab, and had demonstrations on HPLC,autoclaving,BOD incubator,Membrane filtering machine etc.Students also visited the ‘Herbal Garden’ wherein they studied about plants with medicinal properties,plant systematics etc.

A Induction/Orientation Programme was conducted for students of UG and PG 1st year in room no.24 on 21 August, 2023 at 12.15pm for information regarding the institution, academics,curricular, co-curricular activities, anti-ragging environment etc.

Students participated in a mega event Y20 under the Theme-Future of work:industry 4.0,innovation & 21st century skills at KIIT,Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar, Department of youth affairs, Govt.of India under framework of G20.

Seminar on Fashion Design and Interior Design

A seminar on Fashion design, Interior design and design technology was organized for the students of +2 and +3 on 8th August, 2023. Resource persons from JD Institute of Fashion Technology delivered a talk on different career opportunities of design technology.
